We chose an interesting combination of Frankovka and Cabernet Franc as our first red wine label. We wanted to stay true to the interesting regional varieties that have a connection with this area, so we decided to go for Frankovka. A variety that was very common on Fruška Gora, known for its light and aromatic red wines. However, we were also open to something new, and from a small experiment a blend was born that turned out to be an exceptional combination. And we love to experiment!
The wine is dark ruby red.
The aroma is dominated by a combination of red berries and spices, among which green pepper stands out as a trademark of Frankovka. Along with varietal characteristics, there is also a note of vanilla that comes from the oak in which the wine was aged for 12 months.
We owe the freshness that appears after every sip of the wine to Frankovka, while the structure and body of the wine is carried by Cabernet Franc, which is 15% in the blend.
The wine follows the gentle and hidden influence of the oak, which built up and accompanied the wine.
Aged in used Hungarian oak barrels, volume 300 liters.
A very rewarding wine to pair with. It goes well with local red meat specialties, such as long-cooked veal stew or game specialties. Balanced acids will contribute to a nice pairing with grilled meats, wild mushroom stew and aged hard cheeses.
